New storage!

Random 002 I just love my new storage...I build it myself with some help of my DH.

The cupboard is easy to make. You go to IKEA and buy the modules.

Put them together in the way you like. Paint them and mount them on a piece of wood with "feet" under it and you done!

Enjoy!

Unwanted visitor.

I love my new garden. It is growing so fast and the salads and stuff are just lovely. I don't know if I can go back to the bought bags of salads ever again. I was having some problems. The leaves of my red beets and my spinach were disappearing, very strange since we live in the center of the village and with a train passing us closely every half hour.

So imagine my surprise when I looked outside and saw this:

Now I love bambi..but not in veg-patch. This time he was in the neighbors patch. I later talked to my neighbor about what I saw and he told me he chased him away during our stay at the cottage. But he seems to be a picky eater and since I was all out of spinach and beets he moved on...

Don't they look sad?

Baskets....

Random 004

My baskets are waiting in this nice pile for me to add more baskets. At the moment I am making a new quilt for a Pink and Barbara pattern that will also be a new class this Autumn. This is also applique so the baskets just need to wait a bit. The plan is to finish the top of the new quilt before I go on Holiday and then I can take my baskets with me...can't wait ...I miss them...

Enjoy!

If you still want to join the ring you are more then welcome. You can find more information under the Join the Trick and Treat basket ring section. We would love to have you!

P.s I am getting a lot of emails from people asking me if I can just copy and email them the pattern. This is against copy-wright laws so I can't. But the book is just lovely and I think you will just love the other patterns as well so please buy the book. You can buy the book at quilt it and Dotty Or visit you local quilt shop!

The cottage part 3

Just a few more small post about the cottage.

When we were at the cottage it was midsummer, so we went to a traditional midsummer dance:

and:
P1020809

We had some lovely weather but it was cold. Since we have had a very cold start on the spring and summer the water in the lake was still cold. Well since we don't have any electricity or running water in the cottage when you have to shower or take a bath there is only one option:
P1020821
and if you think it to cold this is an option too:

Have a great weekend!

The Cottage part 2

On the way to the cottage you pass a village called Stenjö By. It is about 20 minutes from our Cottage. It is an old village and they try and keep it that way. It is very rustic. They also use it sometimes to record old movies. One series was in some parts recorded here. It is called Emil in Lönneberga by Astrid Lindgren.

Some of you might remember this:

The cottage part 1

As some of you know we have this lovely cottage in the South of Sweden where we normally spent our holidays and also celebrate Midsummer solstice.

This time we went down and celebrated midsummer solstice and had a wonderful time. We had 2 Dutch guests over and some Swedish friends as well. I have taken a lot of pictures to share with you so I will do this in some parts...

Part 1 is about the lake. We have "our own lake" about a 3 minute drive or a 15 minute walk from us. It has some great rocks by the edges so that you can sunbathe and swim there. We don't really know how big our lake is because it goes around a bend. but on the maps it looks big.

Here is a satellite picture:

The arrow is our cottage and the lake is on the left.

Here are some pictures on of the lake:

Day planner

I spent some time looking for a new day planner. I couldn't find one I liked. I wanted one with some interest to it, but not overly designed. I also wanted room to doodle new designs and ideas,  write a to do list and a "to contact" list. So after looking for one for some time I made one myself.

I wanted one in a flexible form because I don't get the whole thing of carrying around a whole year of stuff of things that you have already done and then coming to december and being able to plan for January. So the idea is that I will fill these up as I go along and take out the old ones and save those for reference.

The planner closed:

The address title page:

The contact pages:

The Notes title page:

the notes pages are just normal pages and some plastic pockets for things:

So this is the whole day planner. I will be testing it out soon and hope it will all work. You can also order these from Pink and Barbara. It will be handmade by me and made to fit your needs and your style. Contact me for more information.

Enjoy!

Birthday cake

My dh had his birthday last weekend. He is the kind of person who never has a wishlist of presents and things and is generally happy with small things.

He does have one request. He mom used to always make him strawberry birthday cake. So also this year he got his birthday cake...but made by me... It was yummie..
