It's melting...yeah!!

Hi!

It is such a beautiful day today, the sun is shinning. It is still cold here but the snow is melting bit by bit. I am so happy about it. (you can see the snow still on the background of the picture)  I can't wait to start on my garden. I have already planted some seeds that are now in my windowsills, some have already started to grow!

I am still working on my Tangled Yoke cardigan and it is looking wonderful.

 I also finished this 2 weeks ago.

It is called Serpahim by Miriam Felton and it is made out of Handmaiden Sea-silk yarn. The color is called Rose garden I  really like it but it got a bit too big. I drown in it ..but think It will be wonderful on a cold summers night sitting outside.

 

I am also working on some new designs for the upcoming show The Open  European Quilt Championships in Velthoven, Holland. It is from the 30 of April until the 3th of may. I will have some spoiler pictures coming soon, but that is why it has been so quiet on the blog...

The Intention Yarns SpiritStitching Circle and Club

Last year I signed up for the Intention Yarns club from Lime and Violet. They have this really cool pod-cast that I listen to and now the yarn club.

Last Friday I got the first shipment. Isn't it lovely!? It is a bamboo-merino blend.

 

The idea of the club is that we will knit or crochet or whatever you want to do with your yarn with mindful intention. We also have forum, newsletters and some journaling that comes with it. It is for a whole year so it sounds like it is going to be a fun year.

For me the club will be about thinking more about my crafting and doing it just for the fun of it. Most of the other crafting I have done for a while it has been for somebody else or with deadlines (my own deadlines) or for the business side of pinkandbarbara. So I am trying to really use this as my me time without any deadlines.....

Since we are waiting for the newsletter with the patterns I have started reorganizing my space since it was chaos.

 I made these nice fabric boxes as well.

Can't wait to start! Today is such a lovely day. The snow is finally melting so I am going to sit outside for a while...... BTW, Don't forget to sign-up for the free-give aways! (see post bellow)

Shelves

Hi!

Doesn't this looks sad...even my plant gave up the will to live...*s*

I have this insane collection of tea-things. I have so many teacups that DH have said that no more teacups are coming into our house. Can you believe it. I also wanted them to be more prominent in our house.

So I have been thinking about a new way to show them off. Because the other 4 shelves I had are not enough. So I started thinking about some new shelves above my cupboard in the kitchen. So after a trip to the store we got some shelves and screws and so on. I put a white-wash coat on it. 

This is what it looks like now:

Nice huh? I am so happy with it! Now I can buy some more cups.

Finished things last weekend

I had this great weekend this last weekend. You know the kind of weekend where you don't have to do anything and find the inspiration to finish some things. I had a friend over for some crafting and finished a great trilogy of books, and just relaxed....

I finished DH socks that were supposed to be a Christmas present but didn't quite work out like that, since I took the knitting with me to Holland. I then send it back to myself because I only had carry-on on the plane and didn't want to loose it.

It took more then 4 weeks to get here!..and then it was to late for Christmas. But they are done now and he loves them!

The pattern is called: thuja

I knitted it in Lorna's Lace Shepherd Sport 100% super-wash. Color 304 Black Watch on 2.75 needles.

It was kind of a boring knit since my DH has enormous feet! I am so happy to be done.

I also made these Baby booties for a friend who just had a little baby girl.

I made it in 100% cashmere, it is so soft. On 3 mm needles.

I also went to the book sale that we have every end of February and I bought these books.

I can't wait for spring and digging in the garden. 

Tangled yoke cardigan

On Wednesday I was at Maria's garn. I always love going there. Maria is so nice and knows everything, which is so important for a beginning knitter as me.

I found this beautiful yarn. I love it. It looks like a tweed but not as rough. It is so soft. I love it.

The cardigan I want to make with it is the tangled yoke cardigan.

I will be making some adjustments. Since if you measure the sweater measurements and compaire it to how it looks on the model ...she must be 2 meters long at least.

Yesterday I went to a extra knitting group meeting. We had so much fun and buckets of tea. I didn't get so much done. It is always more talking then working. 

Japanese Feather and Fan shawl

I made the Japanese Feather and Fan shawl by Izzy. It is a free pattern. 

I used Malabrigo Lace yarn in the Cactus Flower colorway on needles 4mm.

I loved knitting it. The shape makes it stay on your shoulders.

Notes on making it:

I loved knitting this. It took me a bit over 2 weeks to do. I have knitted some lace before, but did feel that a bit more explanation would have been great. As soon as you get the idea that there are 8 wedges it becomes more clear. Also understanding that there is a middle and you need to mirror the lace chart is good to know...so a ssk on one side becomes k2tog on the other. I also added some beads to give it some more weight.

I didn't get the lace edging to work, so I did a row of k2tog, Yo before I bound of which gave me a nice edge. But I do love it!

The Nora bag

Here is a look at the Nora bag. It is a great bag with 2 big zipper pockets. The zipper pockets are perfect for crafting. I usually have my wallet and phone and other personal items in one of the zipper pocket and my knitting in the other. My pockets are made out of a see trough fabric so I can find everything at once...perfect!
